Hello. My name is Sierra, like the Sierra Nevada mountains. I am a writer.
Authors really must have something in common because I too was one of those who hand wrote bestsellers at an early age. I filled reams of Mead notebooks full of stories in high school, and made my friends read them. One time my friend Anita and I left a notebook filled with stories in our high school geography class, and our teacher Ms. Barkly found it AND READ IT. And worse, she was a character in one of the stories. We called it “Pette Officer Barkly.” (Because she had a delivery style like a military officer….this is so embarrassing.) The next day, she said, “Girls, I think you left this here. Oh and ‘petty’ is spelled with a y, not an e.”
Cripes.

I did most of my growing up in Santa Cruz, California, which is a very nice place. I spent three, more or less, years on the Greek island Santorini, where I scampered up goat trails and played among the pistachio tree orchards. I also did a stint in Massachusetts and West Virginia. Now I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I write women's fiction. I like the genre and I love the satisfaction of telling a story about the choices women face, and their challenges, and their loves (of course).
I was a technical writer and then a marketing communicator (which means I design and write things.) I have an undergraduate degree in Art (Conceptual Design) and a master’s in English (Technical Communication).

I support the Scottish football (soccer) team, Hibernian FC, or the Hibs. Hibs are based in Edinburgh. Most weekend mornings during the season, I can be found shouting encouragement as I watch or listen to them play via Internet stream. Glory glory to the Hibees!
One of my secret dream jobs is a radio DJ.
My elbows are double-jointed. Mmm-hmm, it's really gross.
